Miwok Sun Maiden

I've been working on this little 4x4 painting for a contest at my local Indian reservation. I was inspired by the beautiful women they have working in their Tribal Health office. Long almost black hair frames lovely young women. The workers often bring in their children to work and family members bring their children in to hang out with the rest of the family. The atmosphere is an interesting mix of modern medical facility and family reunion with lots of love an laughter. It's such an amazing place to take my family in for medical care.

I really like the painting.  I hope the people who evaluate the art like it, too. It's just what I envisioned in the lobby, but now I'm thinking it may need something else.

If I add more to her, I'll share it here.

I hope that you get to create what you envision, too.

Blessings,
Laura P.

EnVision Cards

I've been working on putting together a workshop to share my love of art as well as support people in their personal goals. The result is EnVision Cards. The cards are 2.5 x 3.5 (ACT/ACEO size) and are all inspirational in theme. I'll post some examples of the cards here. I also started a blog just for the cards at www.EnVisionCards.Blogspot.com

I'd love to get your feedback, and maybe see you in a workshop sometime!

Upcoming Line of Pendants for ETSY

original painting titled "sunshine"
original artwork titled "mended heart"

Hey, all! I've been slaving away working on new designs to place in pendants that I plan to list on ETSY. I thought it would be fun to post a few of the art pieces here to give a preview of the jewelry to come. I just love creating iconic images. These pieces lend themselves perfectly to darling little pendants worn simply or adorned with charms and beads. Gosh, the creative process is fun! This process starts with creating original artwork, taking pictures, and collecting vintage images. Then, I use my computer to make them the right size and print them out. For fun, I like to add some glitter and extra brush or ink strokes to the images. Finally, it's off to the glass studio to create the pendants. I hope you are having fun with your process, too.

Our Camper Mural

Hawk viewed as if flying overhead

Monarchs
Jim and I have been working on our little camper to get it ready for the wild out doors! Ok, the truth is, mostly Jim's been working on it. :) But, when he told me that he had to replace the large piece of wood that extends out over the cab of the truck, I had a vision! Jim set the wooden panels up for me on saw horses so that I could paint a mural on them. Since our camper is called the "Hawk" and we had a hawk in residence last summer, I decided to paint a hawk from the perspective of looking up in the air at him. So, here's a pic of the hawk up in the sky.

We also enjoy going to Santa Cruz to see the butterflies, so I figured, we needed some of those, too.

My Angel series

I've done a few of thees angels and really enjoy them. It's so fun to see how they reveal themselves to me. The baby's guardian angel is set in a tin cealing tile. The painting is only three by four inches tall. She's so cute!!

Sharing some art with you

I just love these cute little birdies that I sculpted from paper clay then painted. The inspiration is my cuddly relationship with my partner, Jim. I added the baby because I thought they seemed like they should have a family. I hope you enjoy them, too.
